Feature Film — British Drama
A Screenplay by Charles Antony Sliney
"Some promises are broken. Others last forever."
A family gathers through the night to say goodbye to their dying mother, Josephine. Old wounds, buried resentments, broken relationships and unresolved grief slowly rise to the surface as her children struggle to face not only the loss ahead of them, but the people they have become.
As memories of childhood comfort clash with the reality of adulthood, the family are forced to confront love in its messiest form — through arguments in cramped kitchens, awkward silences, fading promises and the quiet rituals that still bind them together.
Set almost entirely within a single flat over the course of one emotionally charged night, Broken Promises is an intimate British drama about family, forgiveness, and the fragile connections that remain even when everything else begins to fall apart.
