In the working town of Rosemere, Margaret Thompson — better known as Mags — is an eighteen-year-old who has quietly surrendered her sense of self to care for her widowed father and older brother. In private, she dreams of designing fashion, though even she struggles to understand who she might become.

Trapped in a cycle of invisibility, Margaret's only confidant is the audience. A chance meeting with Colin introduces Maggie — a version of herself that dares to be seen.
