Darkly Comic Thriller — Feature Film
A Screenplay by Charles Antony Sliney
"She's a ray of sunshine."
Joy is a sharp-tongued, antisocial insurance worker who prefers the company of her cat to most people. When she witnesses the brutal murder of a stranger in broad daylight, she finds herself hunted by a ruthless criminal organisation determined to recover a piece of evidence she unknowingly possesses.
Forced to rely on rookie police officer Dale and guided by the lingering influence of her recently deceased best friend Trish, Joy is dragged into a deadly conspiracy involving corrupt officers, missing persons, and a respected local councillor hiding a terrifying secret.
As the body count rises and danger closes in, Joy must decide whether to keep running or finally stand and fight. Armed with little more than stubbornness, blunt honesty, and an oversized handbag, she discovers that even the most ordinary person can become a hero.
Life of Joy is a darkly comic thriller about friendship, grief, courage, and finding connection when you'd rather be left alone.
