Dreamz Catcher International Film Festival 2026 — Winner
A Screenplay by Charles Antony Sliney — Christmas 1997
"In the shadow of who you were, who would you become?"
After a devastating argument with his partner Evan, 45-year-old Seb Martin is struck by a car on Christmas Eve. When he wakes, he finds himself in his childhood bedroom in 1997 — surrounded by Spice Girls posters, a Tamagotchi, and Rocky, the dog he buried decades ago.
Believing he must be dreaming or dying, Seb begins to relive the world he once longed to return to. But the past quickly loses its shine. Knowing what lies ahead turns nostalgia into a prison, forcing Seb to confront the truth about his family, his first love, and the choices that shaped his life.
As the line between memory and reality begins to fade, Seb must decide whether the past is truly where he belongs — or whether the future he thought was broken is still worth fighting for.
